We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage in a Rapid Care setting in Martinsburg, West Virginia. This opportunity offers the chance to care for patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries while working alongside a collaborative healthcare team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of urgent and episodic medical conditions. The APP will collaborate with physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary team members to develop and implement patient-centered care plans. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, coordinating referrals and follow-up care, and ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including biological, social, and psychological evaluations
Order, interpret, and review diagnostic testing
Develop and implement treatment plans
Perform procedures within scope of practice and credentialing
Coordinate care with specialty services when appropriate
Provide patient education and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Participate in the education of medical, nursing, and advanced practice students as applicable
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications
Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing
National Certification through a recognized APRN Certification Center
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia
FNP or ACNP certification preferred
Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required
PALS certification encouraged
Physician Assistant Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant training program
NCCPA certification required
Licensed or eligible for licensure through the West Virginia Board of Medicine or West Virginia Board of Osteopathic Medicine
Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required
BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required
PALS certification encouraged
Experience Requirements
Acute Care, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine experience preferred
Eligible new graduates will be considered
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
